The Host foi fundada em 2004 com o propósito de forjar uma identidade única nos domínios do Black e Death Metal. Inspirada por ícones do gênero, a banda criou uma poderosa fusão de agressão, melodia, peso e atmosferas sombrias. Hoje, o som da banda está firmemente enraizado no Blackened Death Metal, caracterizado por uma densidade e brutalidade avassaladoras. Entre 2004 e 2009, o The Host lançou três demos e um EP. Após entrar em um hiato involuntário em 2010, a banda ressurgiu em 2022 com força renovada e agora se prepara para lançar três EPs no segundo semestre de 2025, seguidos por um álbum completo já gravado e programado para lançamento em 2026. A formação atual conta com W.A.R. (vocais e letras), Alexandre (baixo), Janderson (guitarras), Manfredo Savassi (bateria) e Haereticus (teclados e orquestração).

The Host was founded in 2004 with the purpose of forging a unique identity within the realms of Black and Death Metal. Inspired by genre icons, the band created a powerful fusion of aggression, melody, heaviness, and dark atmospheres. Today, their sound is firmly rooted in Blackened Death Metal, characterized by overwhelming density and brutality. Between 2004 and 2009, The Host released three demos and one EP. After an involuntary hiatus in 2010, the band resurfaced in 2022 with renewed strength and is now preparing to release three EPs in the second half of 2025, followed by a full-length album already recorded and scheduled for release in 2026. The current lineup consists of W.A.R. (vocals and lyrics), Alexandre (bass), Janderson (guitars), Manfredo Savassi (drums), and Haereticus (keyboards and orchestration).
